Jim Smith

Jim is a founding partner of SMC, LLC, a nationwide asset disposition and appraisal firm. Jim has a nearly four decades of extensive experience in the machinery and manufacturing business including capital equipment valuations and liquidation of capital assets. Jim started Precision Machinery and later started Smith Machinery, which he still successfully operates today. Additional companies under Jim’s ownership and control include Precision Rigging and Precision Finishing. Jim is a senior member of SME, a member of the Machinery Dealers National Association (MDNA), a member of the Association of Machinery & Equipment Appraisers (AMEA), and has completed the Rockford Press Safety program.

Ryan Smith

Ryan is a licensed auctioneer having completed the World Wide College of Auctioneering school. Ryan has been in the Machinery business for 15 years with a brief stint on the manufacturing side of things to gain a better vision of all sides of the business. Ryan’s extensive fifteen year background are in all areas of industrial machine sales, finishing, rigging, cnc machine operation, warehousing, injection molding, and Circuit board/commercial electrical Building. Ryan’s equipment valuation experience has supplied him with a wealth of knowledge, techniques and methods needed to appraise in today’s complex environment. Member of the Machinery Dealers National Association, National Auctioneers Association and the Iowa Auctioneers Association.
